Tog
Verb

Definition: to dress in clothes for a particular occasion or activity
Origin: Latin “toga”
First know use: circa 1785
The Artist:
Citizen Tog is a human, not a brand.
She is a photographer, writer and artist.
She believes the work speaks for itself and patriarchal criticism of any art form is irrelevant.
POV:
A human life is comprised of the sum-total of stories that we live each day.
Clothing communicates a person’s emotional story at that moment in time. Photojournalism is a conduit to that story.
The Work:
From hype-beast to granny-glam to gender-fluid, Citizen Tog documents human acts of sartorial self-expression in cities around the world.
Quote:
The rampant overuse and misapplication of the words “authentic” and “curated” in the pursuit of influence and/or self-promotion is disingenuous and highly suspect.
